1. Who is responsible for processing your data

The persons named in the imprint. For any questions regarding data protection, please use the e-mail address given there.

2. What happens when you simply visit this site

This website sets no cookies and embeds no third-party services – no fonts from external servers, no maps, no third-party analytics, no social media buttons. As a result, no data about you is transmitted to third parties.

As with any web server, our hosting provider records technically necessary access data (the address requested, the time, the amount of data transferred, the browser identification and the IP address). These logs serve the operation and security of the site. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest in trouble-free operation.

In addition, we keep our own deliberately minimal visitor statistics – see section 3.

3. Visitor statistics

We count how often the pages of this website are opened, in order to learn which content is being read. The evaluation runs exclusively on our own server; no third-party service is involved.

Only totals are stored, never individual visits: per day the number of page views and visits, the page requested, the referring website, the type of device (phone, tablet, computer) and the country.

Your IP address is not stored. It is needed for two calculations and discarded afterwards:

To determine the country. This is done on our own server using a list of IP ranges held here; no request is made to any third party.
To avoid counting the same visit twice on the same day. For this we derive a checksum from the IP address, the browser identification, the date and a random value known only to us. It cannot be reversed, changes daily at midnight and is deleted after seven days. Recognising a visitor across several days is therefore not possible, not even for us.
No cookie is set and nothing is stored on your device. The remaining counters no longer relate to any individual person.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – our legitimate interest in learning which content is read. You may object to this processing under Art. 21 GDPR; please contact the address given in the imprint.

4. Contact form

If you write to us using the form, the details you enter – name, e-mail address, subject and message – are stored on our server and additionally sent to us by e-mail. We also store the language version in which you filled in the form, as well as your IP address; the latter serves to prevent automated bulk submissions.

We use this information solely to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Stored enquiries are deleted after six months at the latest, unless they form part of an ongoing business relationship.

5. Your language choice

When you switch languages, your browser remembers this choice locally on your device (localStorage). This information is not transmitted to us and can be deleted through your browser settings.

6. Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, the language you chose, and the time and IP address of the subscription. The latter two serve solely as evidence that the subscription came from you.

We only start sending after you have opened the confirmation link in our subscription email (double opt-in). Without that confirmation you receive nothing from us, and the details become void after 48 hours.

The legal basis is your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw it at any time: every issue ends with an unsubscribe link that works without a login and without a form. Withdrawal deletes your address, it does not merely deactivate it.

7. Your rights

You have the right to information, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Please contact the address given in the imprint.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority.
